Safeguarding
Policy

Introduction

At Callisto Holistics, we are committed to creating a safe, supportive & respectful environment for everyone who engages with our services, both online & in person. We recognise that shadow work & holistic practices may bring up sensitive or distressing emotions, memories or experiences. This policy sets out how we protect the wellbeing of participants, uphold professional boundaries, & respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.

Our Commitment
  • We prioritise the emotional, physical & psychological safety of all participants.

  • We treat all individuals with respect, dignity & compassion.

  • We do not tolerate any form of harassment, abuse, exploitation, or discrimination.

  • We respect the confidentiality of participants, except where there is a safeguarding concern that requires us to act.

Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All courses, workshops & services provided by Callisto Holistics (online or in person).

  • All facilitators, staff, volunteers & contractors working with or on behalf of Callisto Holistics.

Safeguarding Principles
  1. Safe Practice – All facilitators will maintain appropriate professional boundaries & never exploit their position of trust.

  2. Informed Consent – Participants are encouraged to engage at their own pace & can withdraw from activities at any time.

  3. Confidentiality – Information shared within sessions will remain private, unless:

    • A participant is at risk of harming themselves or others

    • We are legally required to share information (e.g., safeguarding law)

  4. Support and Signposting – If a participant becomes distressed, facilitators may encourage them to pause, seek support, or signpost them to professional services.

  5. Equality & Respect – Everyone will be treated fairly, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, religion, or background.
