Introduction
At Callisto Holistics, we are committed to creating a safe, supportive & respectful environment for everyone who engages with our services, both online & in person. We recognise that shadow work & holistic practices may bring up sensitive or distressing emotions, memories or experiences. This policy sets out how we protect the wellbeing of participants, uphold professional boundaries, & respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.

Scope
This policy applies to:

All courses, workshops & services provided by Callisto Holistics (online or in person).

All facilitators, staff, volunteers & contractors working with or on behalf of Callisto Holistics.

All participants engaging with our services.

Safeguarding Principles

Safe Practice – All facilitators will maintain appropriate professional boundaries & never exploit their position of trust.

Informed Consent – Participants are encouraged to engage at their own pace & can withdraw from activities at any time.

Confidentiality – Information shared within sessions will remain private, unless:

A participant is at risk of harming themselves or others

We are legally required to share information (e.g., safeguarding law)

Support and Signposting – If a participant becomes distressed, facilitators may encourage them to pause, seek support, or signpost them to professional services.

Equality & Respect – Everyone will be treated fairly, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, religion, or background.

Responsibilities
-
Safeguarding Lead: A named safeguarding lead will oversee all safeguarding practices at Callisto Holistics. They are responsible for responding to concerns, reviewing policies & ensuring safe practice.

Participants: We ask all participants to respect one another’s privacy, safety & personal boundaries.

Review
This safeguarding policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it reflects best practice, changes in legislation & the needs of our community.
